Triple Threat: Bracelets with the Hydraulic Press This 2-day workshop will teach you how to pair the hydraulic press with three different bracelet forming accessories – synclastic, anticlastic, and free-form – to simultaneously curve and bend sheet metal into bracelet forms not easily attained with any other method or process. In this class, we will also discuss the many possibilities and variations you can achieve with these techniques, including incorporating pierced elements, sweat-soldering multiple layers, and adding texture to your bracelet designs. Basic Metalsmithing Experience Required Garnet Studios provides many of the tools listed below. You are welcome to bring your own tools if preferred. Metal needed for projects will be available for sale during the workshop. Tools and Materials: Safety eyewear Apron Closed toe shoes Jewelers saw frame Saw blades (your choice, any size from 3/0 to 1) Hand file (half round or flat) Needle files Sharpie marker Ruler Sheet and wire solder in hard and easy Sarah uses 18g brass sheet to start with for most of the bracelet projects. Cuff lengths will vary according to a person’s wrist size. 6” length is a general measurement for a women’s cuff bracelet. Start with 8” long sheet for the free-form style bracelet.
